How many current owners have received a recall letter. I ask this as I expected that if affected I would receive a letter or possibly a notification via the app. Having received nothing I called BMW CS to check for peace of mind and was told there was recall on my vehicle! and to contact my dealer to arrange parts to be changed. In between times I checked DVLA website recall checker and no recall. Likewise I then checked BMW recall section on website and same, no recall webpage. Something is not working in the recall process somewhere in UK anyway.

Dealer advised delay in getting parts as OOS and will contact when available to arrange booking in.

Reference brake recall I did receive a letter. I went the next day to the dealer only to be told that the recall was being done in chassis number or registration date,
I was told not to worry because it would not effect the performance of the car. Some time later my wife had an accident when turning the car at a very low speed but she said no matter how hard she pressed the brake the car wouldn't stop. Bmw won't accept any responsibility saying 0.5 seconds before impact the throttle pedal was depressed to 99% of capacity. This does not fit the facts. I had to depress the throttle to full to disengage the car from the tow bar it was stuck on. Bmw downloaded information to Germany to obtain this information.I have asked was there two spikes of throttle pressure or just one but Bmw haven't answered this question. According to one Bmw Garage and another manufacturer the car repaired to a very high standard is now worth £30000 a loss in eleven months of £24000 or £2000 per month plus payments. Don't buy a Bmw iX1 unless you can afford this type of loss.

Odd process for recall if BMW website says no but BMW dealer says yes. As for depreciation it’s all EVs nowadays due to factors which are way off topic. I have been told if I get a warning light then cars affected and call BMW assist meantime and dealer. Not great but just have to believe the process will work eventually.

Nat hope the repair is to standard at least.

Who should be held responsible for such depreciation. Government who want us to go electric, Manufacturers who have jumped on profit margin game and don't care about customers. £2000 per month just does not fit any possible
circumstance except greed

It now appears that 1.5 million Bmw vehicles are under a recall for brake problems world wide approximately 80ooo
in the UK. I believe Bmw seem to be hiding behind ,it must have been your fault, if anything happens as a result of the braking system not working according to specification.

Just got a letter from BMW UK, describing the issue and advising that latest software update will alert if a fault develops in the brake system brain (brakes will still work but you may not get the electronic assistance), if you get the warning lights you should stop driving and contact your nearest dealer straight away. They also said that there is another software update coming that will identify a fault before it affects the electronic assistance. The software update is an over the air update and my IX1 had done an update a couple of months ago which has this update.

Sounds like the brake augmentation electronics could be corrupted by an external source.

I got a letter today. It says the latest software update as described by FSKi57will be before end of the year but doesn’t say what the version is. It refers to a version 3 installed previously that wil detect and warn us but newer one will be more obvious on screen and detect quicker. Does anyone know what version it will be as it doesn’t say.

The letter says we will not be getting replacement parts unless the fault is detected even if advised before we would as letter supersedes that advice. Not what I wanted to get as a final resolve that’s for sure.

The new Operating system 8 software update is out, just downloaded it to the app, next time I'm in the car, the car will update providing phone is linked to the car with bluetooth and wifi.

New version is 11/2024.30 , release notes stated it would provide prior alert of any rare anomalies in the braking system (and also improve the comfort access reliability).
