We picked our iX1 30 Msport up in May this year. It sits on 20's. It took some convincing to go for an EV especially from our lovely Black Edition TDI Q5 that is the wife's daily of mode of transport.
I was convinced we should plump for a new or 1 yr old Black Edition Q5 or SQ5 but she try an EV. SecondlyI was shocked at the cost of used Q5's, GLC and X3 diesels and hybrids with high interest rates especially the near new but used Audi Q5's attracting a PCP rate of around 9.9%.
She averages around 12k per year and she really wanted to go with EV as it seemed the more affordable route what with fuel costs , high PCP rate on Audi's Q5 ,the luxury car tax and service costs.
So we were sold on the iX1 as our first EV. I'm happy to report she is smitten and even I quite like its effortless drive without any lag pulling out of junctions or roundabouts we had with the Q5.
The cabin is great with a nice dash and is easy to use with HK sound. I think the Audi has it beaten on quality and space being a bigger model. Also the Audi seems more planted especially in the wet where the iX1 can suffer from aquaplaning.
As for range we are getting 4.1-4.2 miles per kWh and 3.6 on the motorway. It's showing 220 miles on a 80% charge but it is summer!
We charge at home and so far it's great not sticking in £200 per month on diesel! She loves the car but I still have a couple of ICE toys so not all is lost.
I agree that it would be better with a genuine 300-350 mile range for the bi journeys but tbh it's fine for our needs.
What kind of range are you getting?
Hi Everyone, I'm new to the forum. Both I and my wife are happy owners of two iX1 eDrive20 M Sport (Storm Bay and Space Silver).
I charge both cars to 80%, as we don't do more than (31 miles) a day.
I do about 50km (31 miles) a day on weekdays getting to work, and much less on weekends, and looking at the app for my car - I'm getting a range of 297km (185 miles) with 80% charge (as of mid-October, I think it was a bit more over the summer). With current distance traveled from new of 4,200km (2,600 miles) I'm getting average electricity consumption of 16.5 kWh/100km. 90% motorway commute (fast in the morning with no/low traffic, slow in the evening in heavier traffic).
My wife does about 30km (19 miles) a day is getting a range of 280km (174 miles) with 80% charge and (per the app). With current distance traveled from new of 4,700km (2,900 miles, she got her car 2 months earlier), she is getting average electricity consumption of 17 kWh/100km. Probably 60-70% in town and the rest on motorway.
I expected the range is not very high, but the longest distances either of us in the last few months (since May '24 and Jul '24) were no more than 120km (75 miles) a day (infrequently), and I don't recall the % of charge falling below 50% often. Always charging both cars overnight at home using cheap tariff (sometimes on alternate days, as we have one 7kWh charger), and spending EUR 50 per month for electricity for both cars, instead of having to spend EUR 340 for diesel for two former cards (2014 F11 520d, 2014 F01 730d). So happy with the car, the range is okay for our needs, cannot imagine going back to diesel/petrol again (though I miss F01 air suspension, U11 iX1 is a bit jumpy/a tad too firm). In fact when we replaced my wife's diesel with iX1, I liked it so much that I ditched my diesel two months later too.

Hi all,
I've had my dual motor 30 Msport with 20" wheels since September 2023 and have covered just over 16000 miles. During the week, I drive around 50-70 miles per day, with a mixture of A,B and Motorway driving. Over the 13 months, I'm averaging 3.7 miles/KWh, A full charge gets me around 250 miles.
Last winter, efficiency dropped to around 3 miles/KWh, which reduced range to around 200
