Hello All
I took delivery of my iX1 at the start of July and have loved the driving experience - much nicer car than the Q4 E-tron that I had before.
However charging is another matter.
I charge from a home wall charger overnight to 80%, but the charging session is regularly interrupted at random times and at various states of charge.
The car was booked in to my local BMW dealer, who were able to replicate the fault on their charger, and with BMW input replaced the CCU.
Unfortunately this did not fix the fault, so I am left wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and if so what the solution was.
My car has an 11Kw charger, and I set the maximum current to 32A via the charging app which should align to the wall box output.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

My car has exactly the same issue. However, I use a PodPoint wall charger, OVO Anytime and the car software. Having contacted OVO it appears that their software is causing problems with the car charging software. OVO told me to ignore the car and rely on their system. In order to charge sensibly, I set OVO to charge to 80% and finish at 5:00am. Then I set the car to charge between 00:00 and 5:00am, end every day at 5:00am and charge to 80%. The car does charge but I receive messages at random times from the car saying it has paused operations. When I get up in the morning, the car has reached 80% (thankfully) but none of the previous days’ instructions to the car, via the BMW App (or in the car for that matter) have been saved. Although I have only had the car for 6 weeks, the software seems to require a significant upgrade to iron out many niggles!
One last thing. OVO tells me that there will be pauses whilst they take best advantage of available/cheap electricity.

I had same issues with my newly installed Ohme wall charger where charging would be interrupted randomly. Contacted them initially and response was that it would be third party apps interfering with the charging. My response was that surely the BMW charging should not be at odds with the wall charger. Strangely enough, after a few more email exchanges, they've replaced the wall charger and its been fine since.
I have exactly the same problem.
I have Octopus Energy who are incredibly helpful. I have tried removing my car from the Octopus app and then only the BMW in car programming. This failed to work. The car decided that instead of starting to charge at 23.30 it would start at 06.29 the next morning. The only way to resolve this was to use the BMW app and tell the car to charge immediately.
After a number of failed attempts, I decided to try again with the Octopus app.
19.13 plugged in with the car on "charge immediately"
19.19 I got a notification that "Charge in time slot" is active. Charging will start automatically at ~13.17!!!??
22.23 Notification Charging Paused. Charging will start at 16.30
00.55 Charging Paused charging will start at 19.13
I overrode the system a few times to tell the car to charge immediately to 80%.
I am a crap sleeper so at 04.55 I found that the car had decided to stop charging at 76%.
I phoned Octopus who informed me that they could not charge to their schedule as my car had a charging schedule in place.
This is really crazy. The car is overriding my "charge immediately" schedule and choosing a random schedule which would leave me with a very low battery in the morning.
The only way I can guarantee to get a full charge is to remove the car from the Octopus app. Plug the car in and tell it to charge immediately. The huge problem with this is that the ordinary rate is 27.18p per kWh as opposed to 7.0p per kWh.
Other than this issue, I love the car.

I have exactly the same issue. In fact, I've had to override the car twice already this morning.
Setup here is a Pod point Solo and Octopus Intelligent. I'm pretty sure it's a bug in the cars software, as I have tried every combination available. I've disabled smart charging in the Octopus app and relied on the cars own scheduler to charge between 23:30 and 05:30, but it randomly changes the charging slot time. If I use my Pod point scheduler, the car changes from charge immediately to a random scheduled time. This causes a clash and no charge. Same happens with smart charging
There was an OTA update a few weeks ago and to me, it seems to have become so much worse since that update. I am going to call my service centre and see if they have any suggestions.
It's bloody frustrating!

I'm on Octopus Intelligent with an Ohme Pro, yep the Octopus generated schedules give a fragmented charge, so get a notification everytime it stops, but it's always charged up to target. Car is set to charge immediately and Ohme is connected to Octopus. Same set up as our 14 month old Mini SE, one of the reasons I went with a BMW was the reliability of the Mini charging set up and it uses same system as BMW.
I am also using Octopus Intelligent along with a Pod point Solo 3 charger. However, even though Octopus is set to charge at predetermined slots throughout the night, the car "must" be set to charge immediately and that's the problem I have. At a random point overnight, my car changes from charge immediately, to the internal scheduler, and as soon as this happens, Octopus can no longer control the charge schedule and fails. Meanwhile, my car sits on planned charge and never charges. I have to reset this every time now and often resort to checking it overnight (not ideal).FSki57 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 7:25 am I'm on Octopus Intelligent with an Ohme Pro, yep the Octopus generated schedules give a fragmented charge, so get a notification everytime it stops, but it's always charged up to target. I'm currently waiting on remote diagnostics to be carried out by my Dealer.
Ah OK, with the Ohme the car doesn't talk to Octopus the Ohme does, and this starts and stops the charging. What I have noticed on the Ohme is that when I plug in it will generate a schedule (in the Ohme) but a couple of hours later it might get updated and change. i.e. plug in at 5pm and get a schedule like 01:00-2:00 then 3:00-4:00, but at say 10pm it's changed it too 1:30-2:00 and 3:00-4:30 (actually can be a few more sessions), this is what may be confusing the car is that it's getting different schedules after it's plugged in. Your dealer might not be able to resolve this it might be the communication between Octopus and the Car that's the issue.Oldgeekie wrote: ↑Thu Oct 31, 2024 11:18 amI am also using Octopus Intelligent along with a Pod point Solo 3 charger. I wish it were as simple as that. I've tried disabling Octopus smart charge and used my Solo chargers scheduler, and separately ,my cars own, but it's just the same. The common denominator here is my car.FSki57 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 8:51 pm

Even when not plugged in, my charging scheduler enables itself all on its own.
I think my car is possessed
