I took delivery of my iX1 MSport last December here in France and I've done 10,200km (6338 miles) of mixed motoring. I'm a gentle driver which is reflected in my consumption overall of 19kwh/100km ( 3.3 miles/kwh) The remaining tread on the front tyres is 3mm and 5mm on the rears. They're very evenly worn so they appear well set up as I would expect of a new BMW. Looking not so far ahead, I will need to replace the front tyres at around 12,000km (7456 miles) I normally get around 30-40k miles out of my tyres so you can imagine my shock. The tyres are Bridgestone Turanza Enliten M.O. specifically made for electric cars. I've told my dealer and I'm waiting for a response. Anyone else noticed the rapid tyre wear ?
BTW did you realise there was no means of tyre repair supplied with your car and they're not run-flats. (And of course there's no spare) I only recently noticed this and my dealer referred me to the accessory shop to buy the pump & slush system ! Perhaps you're luckier in the UK. Despite this I love the car !

Just checked my tyres. Continental eco 6. At just over 4000 miles the front are down to 5mm and the rear 5.5. So similar conclusion, May only get 8000 out of them.

Is the problem partly due to driving in B mode. Constantly accelerating and braking?

As a matter of interest which mode do you prefer ?
